Helles Belles with Mark Briggs
Hello and welcome to the Bowland Brewery Blog.
The beer world is an intoxicatingly vibrant and creative place – dripping with colour, oozing with flavour and fizzing over with new foamy delights daily. Here at Bowland we’ve been doing our bit by producing one off experimental brews on our 100lt Pint Sized Brewery. The idea is simple – experiment – brew what ever we find exciting, drawing influences from past and present.
On Monday the 3rd of April, we had the pleasure of brewing a cask lager with journalist and beer boffin Mr. Mark Briggs. The beer has been named Helles Bells and promises to be full flavoured, clean and a little fruity. The brew day was great fun and we look forward to seeing Mark soon for a tasting, although the work hasn’t finished yet as at this point we still have to condition the brew for several weeks. It will be launched at the Holmes Mill Beer Hall and Blackburn Beer Festival at RUFC on 28-30th April. Read all about Mark’s day with us, on Marks blog ‘Real Ale Up North.’
Once again, thanks for your support, especially where the Pint Sized brewery is concerned as your feedback may persuade us to upscale to our new 30 BBL kit. Also, thank you for your continued support and interest throughout the last year while we grappled with the transition to the new brewery.
Some of you may have sampled our experiments up to now and we thank you for your interest and support. A special thanks goes to those who took the time to fill out a comment slip. We greatly appreciate your feedback – good or bad.
