BEER MATTERS: April

In April we welcomed Shane Long of the Cork brewery Franciscan Well for the first of the 2018 Beer Club ‘Meet the Brewer’ events. Attendees heard about how the Brewery combines modern technology with age old tradition to produce their fine craft ales and tasted the Rebel Red, Chieftain IPA and Friar Weisse.

A week later Managing Director, Warren Bennett, presented the match ball to referee Bobby Madley for Burnley FC’s clash with Chelsea at Turf Moor. The Fanzone was in full swing with Hen Harrier and Boxer Blonde on the bar.

The following weekend the Bowland Bus headed to the Bull Ring at Clitheroe Market for the annual Clitheroe Beer and Sausage Market. The day was a huge success with everyone enjoying Beer and Bangers in the sunshine!

A busy month ended with a trip to the seaside aboard the Bowland Bus. Attendees enjoyed pictures beside the 1967 Daimler ‘Beer Bus’ and a pint or two at the Lytham’s St George’s Day Festival!
