Hodder Valley Show | 8th September 2018
Bowland Brewery is delighted to support the 2018 Hodder Valley Show. The traditional agricultural show, set amongst the breath-taking Hodder Valley in the Forest of Bowland AONB, will be held at Duckmere Farm in Slaidburn. The show is unique as it is hosted by the farmers and landowners of Dunsop Bridge, Newton-in-Bowland and Slaidburn rotating each year.
Our top-flight ale, Hen Harrier will be available on the Presidents and Show bars.
The array of attractions offer the chance to experience a slice of rural life including:
- Speed sheep shearing
- Sheep dog trials
- Vintage tractors
- Fell Running
- Slaidburn Silver Band
- Egg catching
- Food Hall
- Craft Tent
In the agricultural section, a vibrant showcase of native and continental breeds all competing for the respected best of breed title. Livestock competitions culminate in a spectacular main ring Grand Parade finale where prize winners show off the day’s winnings. In the horticultural tent, a vast array of fantastic exhibits from local gardeners, bakers, floral artists and school children.
